StreetScene Operations service pressures
/in News /by stockland_adminMessage from StreetScene:
“Dear All,
We don’t often put out messages like this, but due to current pressures I wanted to alert you all to the current state of play within StreetScene Operations (Grounds, parks & gardens, street cleansing, public realm, beaches and events). Streetscene are currently dealing with a high level of service demand, due to staff shortages in key areas, diversion of staff assisting with flood recovery work, and perfect growing conditions of the grass along with the on-set of the sunshine, bank holidays, longer days and more events. This means we are behind with our core work areas.
Please bear with us while we catch-up and get back on schedule. Once we are through the busy bank holiday weekend things should ease a little but in the meantime everybody is feeling very stretched and doing their best to keep services on track.
To help us track demands and provide the fastest response to issues possible, as well as avoiding unnecessary administration and waste work, please can we ensure that members of the public and everybody else report issues to us through our website or on the East Devon app. East Devon mobile app – East Devon , Website Environmental maintenance – East Devon Recycling and waste – East Devon or by emailing This will get requests assigned to the right personnel / team, and processed in a timely fashion. This is the most effective way to report in to us. It also has the benefit of gathering full case details, photos, map location etc.
Please only escalate cases to named officers, managers or myself if something has not been actioned following an initial report or if the matter is contentious.
Thank you for your understanding and assistance with this and please be assured we are doing all we can to return to our normal high standards of service delivery.
Kind regards
Andrew Hancock
