In 2016 we had 4 Exmoor ponies grazing on Quantock, Shortmoor and Bucehayes, where they have been doing a great job chomping away and keeping the vegetation down. Cattle have been doing a similar job on Quantock. Traditionally the Turbaries were used by local residents to graze their own livestock, and any extra vegetation that could not be grazed was burned off regularly. The Turbaries Committee manage the land in a similar way, with the aim of creating a more bio-diverse environment.
